Police are continuing to probe the removal of six bags of documents from the Office of the Prime Minister by well known political activist of the New National Party (NNP), Cheryl Williams.
Williams was caught sneaking out through an emergency exit door from the sixth floor of the Ministerial Complex at the Botanical Gardens in St. George¹s with two of the bags last week Thursday.
The other four bags were already placed in a waiting vehicle.
The incident took place the day following the public holiday granted by the Governor General Sir Daniel Williams to celebrate the eleven to four landslide victory of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the incumbent NNP.
Williams who worked as an Outreach Officer from within the Prime Minister¹s Office defied an earlier order handed down by the Permanent Secretary, Lana McPhail for staff members to not remove documents
Williams was taken into the Criminal Investigation Department for questioning about the documents found in her possession. Investigation into the matter is said to be continuing.
